The St. Louis Cardinals have acquired John Lackey from the Boston Red Sox, according to a source.

The Red Sox are expected to receive an outfielder and pitcher in exchange for the veteran right-hander.

Peter Gammons first reported that Boston will receive Joe Kelly and Allen Craig to complete the deal.
