Tim Lincecum recorded a save for the San Francisco Giants, who had exhausted their bullpen on Tuesday night, allowing him to record a rare feat.

Lincecum became the first pitcher to throw a no-hitter and record a save in the same season since Matt Garza did it in 2010.

The right-hander made his first relief appearance during the regular season on April 2, 2008, but was a fixture out of the bullpen during San Francisco's 2012 playoff run.

"I was trying to do my best to control my emotions," he said.
