The Kansas City Royals are looking to improve their sagging offense and have looked at Alex Rios.

The Royals rank fourteenth in the American League with a .687 OPS and twelfth with 388 runs scored.

Rios makes $12 million and has a $13.5 million option with a $1 million buyout. He also has a no-trade list of six teams in his contract with the Texas Rangers.

Other options include Marlon Byrd, Domonic Brown, Josh Willingham, Carlos Quentin, Nate Schierholtz and perhaps Martin Prado.
