Barry Zito was hoping to give the A's one more start, as he was scheduled to pitch Game 5 on Sunday. "It's frustrating, similar to '03 -- I'll just have a bad taste in my mouth about (my) last game,'' Zito said. "I take responsibility for the series because if I can start us off on the right foot, it's a different series ... I don't get that opportunity now. I just get to think of woulda, coulda, shoulda. "I just have to focus on getting my body in shape for next season, but there are so many question marks, it's hard to do that, too. I don't really know how to feel. "It's important to take these memories and put them in my back pocket ... But there's a lot left to be seen with Lew (Wolff, the A's owner) and Billy.'' |
