Nationals first baseman Nick Johnson suffered what appears to be a serious injury to his right leg as the result of a frightening collision during Saturday's game against the Mets. David Wright of the Mets hit a short pop fly to right field in the eighth inning in which Johnson and right fielder Austin Kearns attempted to catch before the pair collided face to face. Kearns got up almost immediately. Johnson, however, screamed in pain as he remained on the grass and Wright raced to third for a triple in the Mets' 12-6 victory. A splint was put on Johnson's right leg and he was removed from the field on a golf cart.
