While downplaying recent talk of retirement by declaring "I want to play next year," Cliff Floyd also admitted he "probably" will require surgery this winter, whether he returns to the Mets or moves on to another team. "I'm gonna have to take care of it eventually if I want to play ball after this season," Floyd said before the washout. "I know where I'm at, and I have to deal with that....It's been a tough road. "I'm just gonna keep battling until the end of this thing. I don't want to go out like this. I want to finish (strong), so at least when I go home I can feel like I left nothing in the tank."
