David Ortiz is all set to continue his push for American League MVP.

Sidelined since last month with heart issues, the star slugger of the Boston Red Sox was cleared to play by doctors, the team announced Tuesday.

According to a statement by team medical director Dr. Thomas Gill, the monitoring of the 30-year-old slugger identified no further problems. Ortiz is expected to be in the lineup when the Red Sox continue a three-game series with the Chicago White Sox on Tuesday night.
