The Boston Red Sox apparently did not waste any time finding a replacement for star catcher Jason Varitek.

According to a report on the Boston Globe's Web site, the Red Sox will acquire Baltimore Orioles catcher-designated hitter Javy Lopez in a waiver-wire trade. The deal is expected to become official on Friday.
