Sources are saying that the Los Angeles Angels, Minnesota Twins and most recently, the Oakland Athletics have emerged as the finalists in the Alfonso Soriano sweepstakes. It is unknown whether the A's would keep Soriano or re-package him in another deal. Oakland GM Billy Beane has a history of working three-way deals, but if the A's hope to contend this season, Soriano makes sense because Oakland's offense is strongly lacking. Washington Nationals general manager Jim Bowden is expected to move Soriano today with a conclusion expected to push right up against the deadline.
