According to FOX Sports, the Houston Astros are no longer in pursuit of Orioles shortstop Miguel Tejada. "It's over," an Astros official told FOXSports.com Sunday night. "We told them we're not dealing with them anymore." The Astros stopped the talks after thinking that they had a deal in place on Friday. Eventually, the talks were apparently broken off by Orioles owner Peter Angelos. Another problem that the Astros had was that the Orioles would trade Roy Oswalt to their state rivals, the Texas Rangers, if they traded Oswalt in order to acquire Tejada.
