Manager Willie Randolph confirmed on Wednesday that Pedro Martinez will be activated from the disabled list and start when the Mets open a weekend series against the Braves. "Pedro is ready to take the ball and we'll send him out there Friday at Atlanta," Randolph said after the Mets posted a 1-0 victory over the Cubs. The three-time Cy Young Award winner has not pitched in a month due to right hip inflammation and food poisoning.
