Tim Lincecum has been called into Giants manager Bruce Bochy's office at least once this season to hear harsh words about his focus and effort. Bochy said Saturday that when he and general manager Brian Sabean met with Lincecum after Friday night's loss, they gave the right-hander a pep talk but did not chew him out. "He's taking it hard," Bochy said. "We wanted to give him the message that we know he's doing all he can. 'Hey, you're throwing the ball well. Sure, you had a hiccup in the sixth inning. That's going to happen. The only thing you've got to do is keep working.' "More than anything you let him know you're all in with him. All you ask a guy is to give all you have. Timmy's doing that. He's done it every start." Lincecum has a 6.41 ERA in 10 starts this season.
