Mark Ellis, who will miss six weeks of action with leg issues, faced amputation of the limb, according to Dodgers manager Don Mattingly. After being injured Friday night on a hard slide by Tyler Greene of the Cardinals, Ellis was hurried to the hospital Saturday for surgery to reduce swelling in the leg. "Doc said last night that in another six or seven hours, he had a chance of losing his leg," Mattingly said. Ellis is expected to remain hospitalized until Tuesday.
