Jered Weaver says he received 116 text messages after throwing the 252nd no-hitter in Major League Baseball history on Wednesday night. The Angels right-hander received messages from "The Late Show with David Letterman" and Cooperstown. "I'm still a little bit pumped up," Weaver said Thursday afternoon. "I wish I could go out and pitch again tonight. My arm probably wouldn't let me." Weaver went to bed about 3:30 a.m. after celebrating his no-hitter at a local tavern. He slept in until noon. "The support was tremendous," he said. "It still hasn't kicked in yet. It's one of those things you don't expect to do at the major league level, and to have it happen in front of the home fans is pretty special."
