With the A's struggling this season, they may be sellers on the trade market for the first time in six years. "We're always both, regardless of where the team is," Beane said Monday. "That doesn't change regardless of where we sit in the standings. That's always something we want to do. We are always buyers and sellers." Due to the number of A's injuries, Beane said it's been hard to evaluate this year's team objectively. He's not going to set a goal for a number of victories this year, nor rule out getting back into contention. "The goal right now is get everybody back and healthy," Beane said. "We're getting close with Rich (Harden) coming back soon. Until then, I don't want to be pre-empting anything with this season. "We haven't played with a full deck yet. We never will because we don't have (closer Octavio) Dotel. I'm too competitive."
