Mariners manager Mike Hargrove and Carl Everett refused Wednesday to talk about their closed-door shouting match, most of it from Everett, that occurred after the loss to the Angels a night earlier. Everett went into Hargrove's office about 45 minutes after the game and apparently voiced his frustration about his diminished playing time with the addition of Eduardo Perez in a trade with the Indians. "What I said and what Carl said is between us," Hargrove said at his meeting with the media before Wednesday night's game with the Angels. "It's just part of the job, part of the business. None of this stuff surprises me."
