Dusty Baker's managing days could come to a close after Cubs general manager Jim Hendry said he would mull over a decision on Baker.
Tuesday's 7-2 loss to Houston dropped the Cubs to 23 games under .500 at 30-53.
Candidates speculated to replace Baker would be former managers Lou Piniella, Tom Kelly, Jimy Williams, Gene Lamont and Braves third base coach Fredi Gonzalez.
