The Rockies were reported early Monday to have extended an offer to a mystery starting pitcher. Colorado general manager Dan O'Dowd confirmed that the team is trying to finish up a minor-league agreement with veteran left-hander Jamie Moyer. Moyer debuted in 1986 with the Cubs and went 9-9 with a 4.84 ERA with Philadelphia in 2010 before elbow surgery forced him to miss last season. He threw in winter ball and auditioned for scouts.
