Barry Bonds returned to the field Friday and took part in a 10-minute workout, ESPN's Pedro Gomez reported. Under the supervision of Giants assistant trainer Dave Groeschner, Bonds did some resistance drills on the warning track in the left-field corner. Bonds also underwent his regularly scheduled MRI, X-rays and blood test. The results will be checked by infectious disease specialist Robert Armstrong on Sunday. On his Web site Friday, Bonds said his rehab is going well. "The rehab is coming along great. We are moving along at a nice pace and I'm only a few degrees from having full motion," Bonds wrote. Bonds wrote in his journal that he is scheduled to get off antibiotics next week. Overall, he said he was encouraged with his progress. "This week, I played catch on the field, did some resistance exercises and used my heavy bat to work on a few hand drills. Another good sign for me is that my stamina is coming back. I've been spending time cycling and when the time is right, I will be outside jogging. I feel that all the pieces are coming together at a good pace for me," Bonds wrote.
