Riding a 10-game winning streak, the Athletics have added a lefthander to their bullpen.

The team on Monday announced the signing of Scott Sauerbeck to a one-year contract.

Sauerbeck will join the Athletics for Monday's interleague game against the Rockies.

The 34-year-old Sauerbeck was 0-1 with a 6.23 ERA in 24 appearances with the Indians before being designated for assignment on June 9. A week later, he was unconditionally released.

Sauerbeck has a career record of 20-17 with five saves and a 3.38 ERA in 449 relief appearances.
