It may be worthwhile for a team like the Giants to take a chance on a player like Grady Sizemore this winter. Before knee issues sidetracked his career, Sizemore was hitting .281 and averaging 27 home runs and 29 stolen bases over his first four full Major League seasons (2005 to 2008). Sizemore is hoping his Oct. 3 arthroscopic knee surgery will put him back in business. He could be a free agent if the Indians decline his option a few days following the World Series.
