The Dodgers purchased right-hander Chad Billingsley's contract from Triple-A Las Vegas on Wednesday, and said he will start in his major league debut Thursday against the Padres.
The 21-year-old Billingsley was 6-3 with a 3.95 ERA in 13 starts for Las Vegas.
To make room on the roster, infielder-outfielder Joel Guzman was optioned to Las Vegas.
