The Twins have offered All-Star Michael Cuddyer a two-year extension, but he would prefer to negotiate a new contract after the season. Two people familiar with the talks indicated that the offer was for two years and $16 million. Cuddyer can hit the free agent market after the season. The conversations went no further with Cuddyer focused on getting the Twins back to the playoffs and preferring to hold those negotiations in the offseason. "I don't comment on contractual discussions," Twins General Manager Bill Smith said. "I don't confirm them, and I don't deny them."
