Looking for a starting pitcher, the Tigers contacted the Rockies on Thursday to discuss right-hander Ubaldo Jimenez, according to major-league sources. In addition, the Tigers were discussing a trade for Nationals right-hander Jason Marquis, who perhaps is a more realistic alternative than Jimenez, Dodgers righty Hiroki Kuroda and the other starters on the market.
