Despite rumors to the contrary, the Nationals will not trade reliever Drew Storen to the Twins for outfielder Denard Span, according to a source.
Washington doesn't want Span, who is currently on a rehab assignment after suffering a concussion in a home-plate collision in early June.
Storen had 25 saves and a 2.68 ERA entering Thursday's action.
The closer said Wednesday that he hoped to remain with Washington.
