John Smoltz doesn't know if the Braves' prospective new owners will pick up the $8 million club option on his contract for 2007, but the veteran fully intends to pitch next season.

"I will say this --- if it's not picked up, I will pitch somewhere else," said Smoltz, 39.

"I'm going to enjoy whatever time I have left in this uniform," said Smoltz, who is 4-2 with a 3.58 ERA in 11 starts and a team-high 75 1/3 innings, tied for sixth in the majors before Wednesday.

He added, "I will not beg them to pitch here."
