Twins right-handed pitching prospect Kyle Gibson, who ended last season at Triple-A Rochester, has struggled this year in the International League. In three starts to end the 2010 season, Gibson had a 1.72 ERA and allowed just 12 hits in 15 2/3 innings for Rochester. This season, he has made 17 starts for the Reds Wings, going 3-8 with a 4.68 ERA and 102 hits allowed in 90 1/3 innings. He has a 4.09 strikeout/walk radio, but opposing batters are .279 against him. In his last two starts, Gibson has allowed 12 earned runs in just nine innings. In those two appearances, batters hit close to .400 against him. Minnesota drafted Gibson with the 22nd overall pick in the 2009 First-Year Player Draft out of the University of Missouri.
