Pirates right-handed pitching prospect Jameson Taillon is pitching respectably for Class-A West Virginia. Taillon, the second overall pick in last year's First-Year Player Draft, has made 13 starts for the Power in 2011. In his first professional season, he is 2-2 with a 3.66 ERA in 13 starts and 51 2/3 innings pitched. Taillon has 49 strikeouts and just eight walks and has allowed 51 hits. Opposing hitters are raking at a .256 clip against the right-hander. His most recent start, against Hagerstown on July 9, was his worst. He surrendered seven runs and didn't finish the third inning, giving him a 23.14 ERA for the appearance.
