Twins catcher Joe Mauer had an RBI on Friday night in his return to the lineup for the first time since mid-April. Minnesota defeated San Diego 6-5. Mauer brought in a run with a single in the first inning, starting a five-run rally. He missed 58 games with bilateral leg weakness and came to the plate in the first after a standing ovation from the sold out crowd. "It had been a long time since I had stepped in the box so I tried to keep it simple," Mauer said. "It was a pretty tough lefty out there tonight so I tried to use the whole field and was able to get a pitch and get one through the infield. So it was good."
