The Cardinals are looking for a lefty to pitch out of their bullpen and their quest may lead them to Philadelphia's J.C. Romero. The Phillies designated Romero for assignment on Thursday, meaning they have 10 days to either release, outright or trade him. St. Louis expressed interest in Romero, 35, before he returned to the Phillies as a free agent last winter. His one-year contract provides him $1.35 million this season.
