The Indians have placed designated hitter Travis Hafner on the disabled list with a strained side muscle. Hafner was injured while taking batting practice on Wednesday in Chicago and was pulled from the starting lineup. Cleveland recently placed center fielder Grady Sizemore on the disabled list with a bruised knee. Hafner is batting .345 with five homers and 22 RBIs.
