Utley's Knee Is Improving Slowly

Phillies second baseman Chase Utley remains sidelined indefinitely with chronic pain in his right knee, but he is beginning to progress slowly.

Utley did some light running on Thursday, but the team still has no timetable for his return to the field.

"He's progressing as he can tolerate," assistant general manager Scott Proefrock said. "He obviously felt good enough to do something more than he had been doing. Again, every time he does something he hasn't done in the past, the next day is when you find out how it's tolerating."
