Ogando's Stellar Debut Keeps Rangers Perfect

Apr 06, 2011 6:26 AM EST

The Rangers improved to 5-0 on Tuesday night following a 3-2 win over the Mariners.

Alexi Ogando, making his first major league start, pitched six scoreless innings for Texas.

A reliever last season, Ogando only allowed two hits and struck out four batters.

Seattle's Michael Pineda struck out four and walked one in his major league debut.

Pineda, 22, became the first Seattle pitcher to make his major league debut in a start since Felix Hernandez on Aug. 4, 2005.
