Boston's Jonathan Papelbon opened up the 2006 campaign by pitching 15 1/3 consecutive shutout innings over 14 appearances, but finally gave up a run on Wednesday night when Toronto broke a 6-6 tie.
?I let my team down, but tomorrow I?ll be back and ready to go,? Papelbon said. ?This is just a bump in the road for me, but it?s a long season and we?ve still got a long way to go and I?ll go out a lot more innings and pitch. I?ll take this, learn from it, do my homework, study my film, see what happened and move on.?
