The Twins and right-hander Kevin Slowey have agreed to terms on a one-year, $2.7 million contract to avoid arbitration.
Slowey, 26, went 13-6 with a 4.45 ERA in 28 starts for the Twins last season.
He will enter spring training competing with Brian Duensing and Nick Blackburn for the final two spots in Minnesota's starting rotation.
