Despite rumors to the contrary, the Brewers are not yet making first baseman Prince Fielder available via trade. Fielder is eligible for free agency after the 2011 season and Milwaukee general manager Doug Melvin says the club has set a deadline for the end of spring training to work out an extension. "We're not shopping Prince," Melvin says. "I'd like to keep him. He's a homegrown player who wants to play every inning of every game. But we'd like to get something done by the end of the off-season. I don't want to negotiate during the year."
