The Padres placed young pitcher Mat Latos on the disabled list earlier this season to limit his innings, but there is still concern in the organization.

Latos tossed 123 innings last season, but he's already up to 162 2/3 in 2010.

Through his first 26 starts, Latos has thrown 2561 pitches, versus just over 2000 a year ago.

San Diego is in the playoff hunt, which could increase the stress of the arm of Latos this season.
