The Marlins are hoping to sign pitcher Ricky Nolasco to a multi-year deal, but there appears to be a better chance that a one-year pact is agreed upon.

The last serious talks between both sides took place last Thursday and there is a "significant gulf" between the parties.

Nolasco is 14-9 with a 4.51 ERA in 26 starts this season.
