Yankees left-hander Andy Pettitte pitched to Alex Rodriguez at an empty Yankee Stadium on Saturday morning.

After a three-inning simulated game, the verdict was that both Pettitte and Rodriguez are closer to returning.

"I felt good," Rodriguez said. "[Pettitte] looked great. I'm glad I don't have to face him every day."

Rodriguez could be activated Sunday, while Pettitte may pitched again around Sept. 13.
