Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter was surprisingly out of the lineup on Friday afternoon against the Blue Jays. New York manager Joe Girardi said he just wanted to give his captain a day off. "We're just giving him an off day," Girardi said. "There's nothing physical." Jeter entered Friday's game hitting just .266, nearly 50 points below his career average. He has just three hits in his past 34 at-bats.
