The Mets may put a limit on the innings of young left-hander Jonathan Niese for the remainder of the season.

Niese, who is scheduled to start on Saturday against the Pirates, has pitched 133 innings this season.

Mets pitching coach Dan Warthen pointed to the 164 innings Niese pitched two years ago in the minor leagues, but refused to provide a specific target.
