Dodgers outfielder Manny Ramirez will begin a minor league rehabilitation assignment Wednesday with the Single-A Inland Empire 66ers.

Ramirez has been on the disabled list since July 16 with an injured calf.

Los Angeles hoped to have Ramirez back by now, but he suffered a setback earlier this month.

Ramirez would likely need at least three games in the minor leagues before returning to the Dodgers.
