The Red Sox have called up catcher Jarrod Saltalamacchia and he will be in uniform on Wednesday night against the Blue Jays, according to a team source.

Boston acquired Saltalamacchia in a deadline deal with Texas.

To make room for Saltalamacchia, the Red Sox put backup catcher Kevin Cash on the disabled list with a strained hamstring.
