The Astros have called up right-hander Mark Melancon, who they acquired from the Yankees in the Lance Berkman trade. Melancon spent most of the year at Triple-A, going 7-1 with a 3.41 ERA in 43 combined games between Scranton/Wilkes-Barre and Round Rock. "We're going to have to see," manager Brad Mills said. "We'll give him some innings here and there to see where he is and how he's going to fit in. To give him an inning in a big part of the ballgame is not fair to him unless we have to. I've seen him throw three or four times against us when he was with the Yankees, and he's got a good arm. It's exciting to have another real, strong arm."
