Despite rumors to the contrary, ESPN's Jayson Stark writes that the Phillies aren't close to trading outfielder Jayson Werth to the Padres.

"Bunch of rumors flying that #Phillies were about to trade Jayson Werth to #Padres. Source: 'Not true...had discussions...not close'," Stark wrote on his Twitter page.
