White Sox first baseman Paul Konerko has been selected to replace Minnesota's Justin Morneau on the American League All-Star team.

Morneau withdrew as a starter because of a concussion.

Detroit's Miguel Cabrera will take the starting spot.

"It's good news," said Konerko. "You have to kind of look at it as a win-win. I didn't get too emotionally involved."
