With Cliff Lee expected to go to the Yankees, the Mets will be forced to look elsewhere for a starting pitcher.

They won't meet the price for Arizona's Dan Haren, but they could make a serious play for Chicago's Ted Lilly or Cleveland's Fausto Carmona.

The asking price for Houston's Roy Oswalt is believed to be too high for the Mets.
