The Athletics have placed starting pitcher Dallas Braden on the disabled list with elbow stiffness.

Braden hasn't pitched since June 22 and was scratched initially from his scheduled start on Tuesday against the Orioles.

He had hoped to start on Saturday against the Indians.

Braden is 0-5 in eight starts since pitching a perfect game against Tampa Bay on May 9.
