The Diamondbacks had not contacted the Yankees as of yesterday for permission to talk to Kevin Towers, Damon Oppenheimer or Billy Eppler about their general manager vacancy.

However, all three are expected to be candidates to replace Josh Byrnes in Arizona.

"They have to call, and they haven't," Yankees general manager Brian Cashman said.
