The Red Sox have brought up Gustavo Molina from Triple-A to catch knuckleballer Tim Wakefield.

?You relax, and you watch the ball all the way into the glove,? he said, matter of factly, when asked about catching the knuckleball. ?Plus, I caught some of (Wakefield?s) bullpens in spring training. And I worked a lot with Victor in spring training, talking about the knuckleball.?

Molina does have some experience catching the knuckleball. When he was in the White Sox? farm system, he caught Charlie Haeger, a knuckleballer who is now in the Dodgers organization.

?That helped,? Molina said. ?It gives me a little bit of an idea of what to expect. But it?s hard. You always have to be concentrating. The whole game. You?ll get hurt if you lose your focus for one pitch.

?I?ve been talking with Tim,? he added. ?Nice guy. He makes it easier than it could be.?
